About Me

Hi, I'm Jennifer, but my friends call me Jennie. I love simplifying and organizing to create ZENsational spaces!

I worked for 8 years as a teacher in the Howard County Public School System. That experience taught me how to successfully encourage, guide, and educate others. I have customized these skills for professional organizing to better serve my clients!

We are all different - there is no one-size-fits-all solution to simplifying and organizing our homes. Each person has different habits, strengths, and goals. I listen carefully to my clients to create an individualized plan, tailored specifically to who they are and what they want to do. It is designed to achieve the dream they have for their home.

I work side by side with my clients, motivating them to work hard, make hard decisions, and get the job done. I teach them all the tips and tricks to maintain their newly organized space and keep it as ZENsational as it is on the reveal day!

I can tame completely unmanageable spaces and make a room function better (or for the first time) than it ever has before. Gone are the feelings of anxiety, stress, or feeling overwhelmed. I am here for you, and together we can fix it!

My Story

A new passion, a new career

I liked being a teacher - guiding students to persevere, to problem solve, and ultimately, to learn. But I had another passion, one that came naturally to me. I found that I was always simplifying and organizing my home. I mastered the art of keeping a space clean, clear and "put together". Soon, friends and family began to ask for my help. On weekends and summers off from work, I would help others to edit, declutter, organize, and simplify their belongings in order to create functional and well organized spaces.

I loved it! The more I worked, the more I wanted to do! I would feel... jazzed! I was never as happy as I was when I was organizing. All I could think about was what my next organizing project would be, who I could help, and when I could find the time to do it.

"If you like it so much, why don't you do it for a living?" I started to hear that more and more. And I began to wonder, why not? As much as I enjoyed teaching, it didn't compare to the feeling I had when I was simplifying and organizing a space. So, I made the leap, and became a professional organizer.

Now my days are filled with helping others, doing what I love, and spreading the joy of calm and relaxation that comes from a clean and organized home.

The Philosophy

The benefits snowballed

Minimalism is the idea that you live with what you love, need, and desire. Everything else, you let go. You rid yourself of all the things that don't make you happy - deleting the ugly, ill-fitting, poorly gifted, extraneous, and unnecessary. Leaving you with only those things, people, and situations that bring you joy, calm, and peace that comes from a Zen space.

When I found Minimalism, I finally felt that I had found my people, my calling, my happy place. Beginning with my physical belongings, I was able to simplify about 60% of what I owned. Gone! It was that simple. I was left with only what I needed and loved. I was able to breathe. A sense of calm washed over me. My spaces made me feel ZENsational!

With my spaces easier to maintain, now that every item had a specific purpose and a designated home, I was more motivated to keep it clean. I reveled in the joy of that "lighter" feeling and the desire to maintain it.

Little did I know that cleaning the physical clutter would have such a profound impact on the other aspects of my life. With so much less, I found that I had MORE. I had more time because I was no longer wasting it searching for things I could not find or shopping to buy more things I thought I needed. Because my home was clean, tidy, and organized, entire Saturdays were mine again.

I was finding more time for my family. This was true quality time as it was so much easier to stop and play with my two littles because I didn't feel pressured by a running list of to-do’s.

I also discovered I had more patience and ability to focus. Without the distractions of physical clutter, I could concentrate on what really mattered to me. I found myself paying attention to the things I often felt I didn't have time for, all the things I had put aside for later because "I didn't have enough time."

I truly believe that deleting the unnecessary, and quieting the noise of physical clutter, I was able to change my life for the better! I can do that for you, too!
